Ieoh Ming Pei and the Lion Forest

Ieoh Ming Pei, an American Chinese architect, emeritus professor of Tongji University. In April 1917, 26 Ieoh Ming Pei was born in Guangzhou. His ancestral family was a prominent family in Suzhou. He spent some childhood time in the Suzhou garden Lion Forest owned by his family. He came to Shanghai with his father at 10. He went to the United States in 1935 to study in the United States. He studied architecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. He established a construction office in 1955 and retired in 1990.
